The Project Recover and Stress SOS and Lesson Plan Guidance.
It started after Hurricane Katrina.
Researched showed that youth in the Hurricane Zone and also those that watched it unfold on television were suffering from post traumatic stress symptoms. A team working with Dr. Robert Gillio, created Project Recover and Stress SOS to try to help the overwhelmed mental health system and school counselors deal with it.
These materials and programs have been updated and digitized into the Force for Health Academy within this Resiliency course. Thanks for dealing with stress before it becomes distress. That is kind of what resilience is all about. Having a plan of how to deal with stressful challenges is a large part of the answer.
