RAPID Psychological First Aid Invitation
In the process of completing the Resilience course, you will realize that you are introduced to several techniques and terms that are part of something called RAPID psychological First Aid.
When you are done with this course, and if you wish to become more of an asset in your community, you may wish to become skilled in this area. We are offering this introductory lesson and set of topics and skills lab suggestions for you to consider as your way of being there to help others.
Taking this course will be like a laboratory where you can be exposed to and practice skills you will use when confronted with someone in a stressful situation. Much like first aid for a broken bone where you observe, gather information, stabilize to prevent further harm, and refer to experts for treatment management, you do the same for someone in mental health distress.
Skills in the lab you will learn about and practice include:
- Reflective Listening
- Assessment of Needs
- Prioritization
- Intervention, and
- Disposition planning and referral.
You will earn a Force for Health Badge for this Course, and be prepared to get certified with a free course arrangement through Johns Hopkins University.
This Journey is worth 600 Healthy Coins. Click on the Badge here to get started.
