Mifflin County falls to Tallahassee, Fl – Southeast Region Champs

Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-4 loss to Tallahassee, Fl – Southeast Region Champs on Thursday.

Mifflin County struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Tallahassee,

, giving up 11 runs.

In the bottom of the first inning, Tallahassee, Fl – Southeast Region Champs tied things up at one. Tallahassee pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Motts-Smith singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Tallahassee scored four runs in the fifth inning. Tallahassee’s big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Meaks and Ray.

Deitz got the start for Tallahassee. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven.

Madden Weaver led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Mifflin County. The pitcher surrendered three runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings. Logan Ruth threw four and a third innings in relief.

Mifflin County collected eight hits on the day. Ruth, Braxton Smith, and Weaver all had multiple hits for Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All Stars. Weaver, Smith, and Ruth each collected two hits to lead Mifflin County.
