Early Lead For Norfolk, Massachusetts – New England Regional Champion Seals Fate For Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars

The Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-4 loss to Norfolk, Massachusetts – New England Regional Champion on Tuesday.

Norfolk, Massachusetts scored on an error, a single by Munsinger, an error, and a single by Pelkey in the second inning.

Norfolk, Massachusetts pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning.

In the second, Munsinger singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Norfolk, Massachusetts and Pelkey singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Menedez was on the mound for Norfolk . The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out five.

Braxton Smith toed the rubber for Mifflin County.

The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out three. Chase Hartung threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Reese Christine went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mifflin County in hits.

Norfolk  collected eight hits on the day. Munsinger and Pelkey all managed multiple hits for Norfolk.
