Basic Fitness Exercises

Often times, it’s easy to say, “I can’t work out because I don’t have a gym, or have time, but you really do owe it to yourself to find 15-30 minutes for fitness related activities. Here are three easy exercises that most people can do in the comfort of your own home, which will work your whole body. Start out with 3-4 times per week, and you will start noticing a difference.

#1) Push Ups – Push-ups are a great way to start your workout, because they’re easy to do no matter what your fitness level is. You can make them harder or easier by changing the position of your hands. If you’re just starting out, do easy push-ups against a wall. As you get stronger, get down on the ground, and use your knees, if needed. As you get stronger, keeps knees off the ground, and move your hands closer together or farther apart to make the exercise more challenging.

#2) Squats are another great way to work your whole body. You can do them with or without weights, depending on your fitness level. If you’re just starting out, do chair squats. Sit down in a chair, then stand up again. As you get stronger, do full squats, going all the way down to the floor.

#3) Jumping Jacks are a great way to get your heart rate up and work your whole body. They’re easy to do and you can do them anywhere. Just stand with your feet together and your hands at your sides. Then jump up and spread your feet out as far as you can, and jump again to bring them back together. As you get stronger, increase the intensity by jumping higher or adding a clap in the middle of the jump.

These are just a few easy exercises to get you started. Make some goals in your To Do List or document your journey in your on-line journal. This really is a mind-body-spirit activity…you deserve it, so just do it. MOVE…and work toward better fitness all the way around.
