In Episode 2 of “COVID-19: Data to the People,” Dr. Brown highlights how the national patterns COVID-19 are rooted in a disturbing legacy of America’s colonization, enslavement, lynchings, and economic underdevelopment.

Ultimately, the structural conditions in a community or county make people who live in them more vulnerable to pathogens such as HIV or COVID-19. To end the pandemic and foster healing & recovery, America must make amends for its structural sins.
