A colon cancer survivor since 2006, I set out to alleviate the fear of life saving screenings with humor and a simple message – “Get Your Butt Checked!” Since then my pre-cancer and cancer awareness education and activities have encouraged hundreds of men and women to get screened for colorectal cancer.
I set out to join hands across the country with other colon cancer survivors, families with colon cancer history, cancer organizations, celebrities and community leaders, to campaign for this message and to promote access to resources to further my goal of helping end colorectal cancer.
This journey led me to Tucson to be near the work of some of the top disease and cancer prevention specialists and educators in our country.
