Migrants and Refugee camps (DGMQ)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine has an Asia Field Program in the CDC-Thailand country office. The team has been responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in refugee, immigrant, and migrant populations through their support of disease detection and prevention efforts. One area of focus has been to develop and support outbreak response in the displaced person camps on the Thai-Myanmar border, working with International Rescue Committee and the Committee for Coordination of Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand. The team has also worked with Thai Ministry of Public Health as they have strengthened their detection and prevention of COVID-19 transmission at the international airports and other Points of Entry.Video transcript: https://www.cdc.gov/globalhealth/video/transcripts/migrants-refugee-camps-dgmq-thailand-transcript2.docx
