Sudden Cardiac Awareness Month
Every Second Counts, Raising Awareness for Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) can strike anyone, anytime. Unlike a heart attack, the heart suddenly stops beating. But here’s the incredible news… you have the power to save a life if it happens around you.
💡 3 Things to Learn:
Each year, over 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the U.S., and only about 10 percent of those survive without immediate response (American Heart Association). Second, CPR can double or triple survival chances, especially when started right away (NIH). Third, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are designed for anyone to use—even untrained bystanders—making them critical in emergencies (AHA).
🌱 3 Ways to Live It:
Get CPR certified or take a refresher training. Learn where AEDs are located at work, school, or the gym. And talk with your family about what to do if someone collapses suddenly.
🤝 3 Resources to Share:
In Force for Health®, practice preparedness with Stop the Bleed Training, dive into Emergency Preparedness BASICS, and join Reality Health Games.
✨ Friends, every second counts in cardiac arrest… and you could be the hero who makes a difference.
