National Immunization Awareness Month

Sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Immunization Month is an opportunity to highlight the importance of vaccination.

August is National Immunization Month, which means it’s time to make sure you and your family are up-to-date on your vaccinations. Immunizations are one of the most important ways to protect yourself and your loved ones from serious diseases.

Immunizations, also known as vaccinations, are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself from disease. Immunizations work by protecting you against diseases that can be very serious, or even deadly. When you get vaccinated, you are essentially receiving a “shot” of immunity that helps your body fight off a particular disease.

There are a number of important immunizations that everyone should consider in 2022. These include vaccinations for influenza, pneumococcal disease, and hepatitis B. Immunizations can also help protect against more rare diseases such as measles and meningitis.

Making sure you and your family are up-to-date on your vaccinations is one of the best ways to protect yourselves from serious illnesses.
