Resiliency Resources at Force for Health
It started after Hurricane Katrina. I watched how some youth stepped up as leaders and were aware of problems and dealt with them without much trauma and rapidly recovered. Some of these youth stabilized their families as parents were seeking new shelter and income after the destruction.
Project Recover:
Researched showed that youth in the Hurricane Zone and also those that watched it unfold on television were suffering from post traumatic stress symptoms. A team working with Dr. Robert Gillio, created Project Recover to try to help the overwhelmed mental health system and school counselors deal with it.
These materials and programs have been updated and digitized into the Force for Health Academy within this Resiliency journey and a separate journey, named Project Recover in the Mental Health collection.

Thanks for dealing with stress before it becomes distress. That is kind of what resilience is all about. Having a plan of how to deal with stressful challenges is a large part of the answer.
