This is a big day held every December 1 to raise awareness about HIV and fight stigma. Here is what you need to know, do, and check out.

- HIV treatment allows people to live long healthy lives, but access is still inequitable in many parts of the world.
- Stigma and misinformation remain barriers to testing and treatment.

- Support local HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns or charities.
- Educate yourself and share the facts about HIV/AIDS using resources like cdc.gov.
- Encourage regular testing among yourself and loved ones.
