Bio and Background

I am a full-time  senior at Northern Arizona University majoring in fitness wellness.  I’m 21 married, pregnant, and have two jobs. I work full time at Highgate Senior Living in Flagstaff Az.  I am active and love to do things outdoors. My hobbies are working out, shopping, walking my dogs or taking them to the dog park, spending time with my family, hiking, skiing, and occasionally cooking.  After graduation I want to work somewhere in the fitness industry with my own clients where I can grow and expand in an entrepreneurial way.

Why I am a Force for Health Member

I am going to be an intern for the Force for health company. I chose this role because I am very passionate about fitness and wellness and spreading education and awareness to people to lower chronic diseases, obesity, depression, anxiety, lack of knowledge, etc. I have a diverse background in fitness and wellness because of my degree, I am working on expanding my knowledge when it comes to the programming side of the company. My goals for joining are to expand my knowledge and familiarity with this industry and help make a difference in peoples lives to choose a healthier lifestyle.

How I use the Force for Health Network Tools

I will become familiar with the tools and use them to help me learn and grow with the resources already available, this will make it so much easier to expand my knowledge and share with others.

My inspiration

My mother inspires me for a few different reasons. She was a single mom of three raising us all on her own working, and still being present in our lives. She never missed one sporting event or award ceremony we had and still provided for us. She also inspires me to stay healthy and fit because now that she’s older she has a lot of health issues due to not eating the best or staying healthy. All these things combine inspire me to work hard and always show up while also prioritizing my health and fitness for a long healthy life.

Location

I am based in Flagstaff but make frequent trips to Payson Az., I consider both these places my community.

What would you like people to know about your community?

They are both beautiful with lots of outdoor options like hiking and skiing. They are both smaller communities in colder areas.

Advancing the DREAM

Advancing the DREAM - What it means to me

To me this shows that we are still struggling with health disparities and ensuring proper care to minorities. I want to help advance the dream by getting knowledge and resources out there for anyone to use not just certain populations or race.

My Action Pledge to Advance the DREAM?

I pledge to advance the dream by focusing on health and wellness resources to share and pass forward to all people for free since resources are hard to afford or get ahold of.
