Now its your turn to Share it
First, observe and find those that may need help based on this lesson and posters.
Keep asking for help until an adult you trust helps you. This can be for anyone at school or work, or even you or a friend or family member. If you are that trusted adult, step up and save the day and perhaps, save a life. Don’t stop until the victim is plugged into help.
Use the Art Poster Materials if you wish.
Print and share the posters, such as in the break room at work or the teachers lounge.
In this lesson, at the top is a “Materials” folder that has copies of each of these posters for your personal use. The graphics look best if printed 8.5 X 11 paper in color. Use them on bulletin boards, presentations to staff, or other places to help educate others. Note that some are more for a rural LA audience ( with local art from H. C. Porter, a skilled Mississippi and LA artist. Others have more of a suburban feel so be culturally sensitive with their use.
Stress: Know the Signs
This is a companion journey designed for students in middle school through college. It has similar content to this but is presented through their eyes. Please use this current journey for yourself, and consider taking an hour or two and suggest to your students to take the stress course as one positive thing you can do with these materials.
My Disaster Planner
Consider offering your colleagues and students or coworker a chance to create their own Disaster Plan. We have resources within this platform for everyone to do that, and earn a Badge adn Healthy Coins in the meantime. Having a plan reduces the everyday stress of threats, provides a clearly defined network of support, preparation to respond, and the means to recover quicker.
Find the local mental health resources in your area
Be ready to self refer or help others get the help they need. If in a school, start with the trusted teacher, school nurse or counselor. Don’t hesitate to self refer. The caregiver often needs care or support. If you are neither a victim or caregiver, show empathy and support for those that are.
Thank you for being a “Force for Health”.
