#LuvNSol Moments with Coach Lucy: Embracing May with Mindful Strength

Hey there Force for Health Family!

Welcome to May—a month of movement, meaning, and fresh energy. As we step into this new chapter, let’s take a moment to pause and appreciate how far we’ve come. From January through April, we’ve built habits, made choices, and taken steps—some bold, some quiet—that are shaping our path toward wellness, purpose, and balance.

Now begins the second third of our Force for Health year: May through August. School schedules are winding down, summer is peeking around the corner, and routines begin to shift. But before we dive into the laid-back days of sunshine and sandals, let’s recognize this moment for what it is—a perfect time to reset.

May carries powerful themes. It’s Family Wellness Month. Mental Health Awareness Month. Sports and Fitness Month. Healthy Vision Month. It’s also a time to bring attention to asthma, arthritis, and hepatitis—conditions that impact many lives and deserve greater awareness and support.

These aren’t just health topics on a calendar. They’re real reminders of what matters most: caring for our minds, our bodies, our families, and our communities.

So what’s our focus this month? It’s simple—growth. Not flashy or overwhelming. Just honest, steady growth. Growth in our mindset. Growth in our health. Growth in how we show up for ourselves and others.

Here’s a little challenge to guide you through May:

  • Reflect: What are you proud of so far this year? What can you let go of?
  • Reset: What new habits or priorities could help you feel more grounded?
  • Reconnect: Move your body. Laugh with your people. Make space for joy.
  • Refocus: Your mental health matters. Give it the care and attention it deserves.

This is a great time to plant seeds for a meaningful, energizing summer. Let May be a bridge—between your goals and your joy, between structure and freedom, between reflection and action.

We’ll be walking alongside you here at the Force for Health.

Ready to LIVE It?

Try our 30 Days of Mindfulness Challenge or join our growing group called Seeking Hearts in Arts, Parks and Beyond where we challenge you to just be a little more aware when you are out and about to notice how hearts come across our paths in many ways, shapes and forms and to take a moment to reflect and share as a practice of slowing down and appreciating our surroundings a bit more. Or use your e-journal here to reflect on some thoughts.

Whatever you do…Keep showing up. Keep stretching. Keep flexing and Keep growing. Let’s have a great May together!

With much LuvNSol always, Coach Lucy ☀️
