Bio and Background

I am a registered pharmacist with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and two years of experience as a medical scribe supporting U.S. healthcare providers. My work involved real-time documentation of clinical encounters and seamless navigation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks. With a strong foundation in medical terminology, clinical workflows, and healthcare documentation standards, I bring a detail-oriented and patient-centered approach to healthcare settings. I am currently expanding my expertise through a health informatics internship, where I aim to bridge clinical knowledge with digital health innovation.

Why I am a Force for Health® Member...

As a data analyst with a background in pharmacy and experience as a medical scribe, I bring a strong foundation in clinical knowledge and health documentation. In my current role at The Force for Health® Network, I analyze public health data from diverse sources including diabetes management, fitness programs, and nutrition education to generate meaningful insights through reports, dashboards, and visualizations. I contribute to gamifying health outcomes by supporting leaderboard development and enhancing community engagement. My goal in joining this network is to bridge the gap between clinical practice and digital health innovation. I’m excited to be part of an interdisciplinary team where I can expand my skills in content creation, chatbot development, translation, and data-driven public health strategies.

How I use the Force for Health Network Tools

As a data analyst with a pharmacy background, The Force for Health Network provides me with a unique set of tools such as:

I can access and analyze diverse datasets related to diabetes, fitness, and nutrition in one place saving time and allowing me to focus on insights, not data collection.

The platform allows me to create intuitive dashboards and visual reports, helping me easily communicate complex health data to team members, stakeholders, and the public.

By contributing to leaderboards and community health scorecards, I help translate raw data into motivating, real-world engagement tools that drive behavior change.

The tools support teamwork in areas like content creation, chatbot development, and translation. This helps me grow new skills while directly contributing to health education and outreach.

My inspiration

I’m inspired by Dr. Atul Gawande, a surgeon, public health researcher, and author. His ability to bridge clinical practice with health systems thinking motivates me to pursue meaningful work at the intersection of healthcare, data, and innovation. He communicates complex medical and ethical issues with clarity and compassion, reminding me that data is not just numbers it represents real people and their stories. His work inspires me to use my pharmacy background and data skills to make healthcare smarter, more equitable, and more human-centered.

What would you like people to know about your community?

I come from the Indian community a culture rich in diversity, tradition, and deep-rooted values. What I’d love people to know is that we are a community that emphasizes family, education, resilience, and hospitality. We celebrate unity in diversity, with hundreds of languages, cuisines, festivals, and customs that reflect our inclusiveness and spirit.

We value hard work and lifelong learning, and many of us strive to uplift not only ourselves but also others around us. Whether it’s through sharing food, offering support, or preserving traditions while embracing innovation, my community always finds a way to stay connected and grounded. I’m proud to be part of a culture that teaches the importance of caring for others, and I carry those values with me in everything I do.

My Citizenship Health Factors

Some of the factors that have been challenging for me have been...

Some of the factors that have been challenging for me are adapting to new health technologies and data tools after transitioning from a pharmacy background. Learning systems like EHRs and data visualization platforms required continuous effort. Additionally, working across different healthcare systems from India to the U.S. came with a learning curve in documentation and communication styles. Balancing my postgraduate studies with hands-on experience has also been demanding, but these challenges have helped me grow and become more adaptable in my healthcare journey.

It's important for me to be part of my community's health because...

I believe it’s important to become involved in the health of my community because good health is the foundation for a strong, thriving society. As someone with a background in pharmacy and health data, I’ve seen how education, access, and early intervention can make a huge difference in people’s lives. By getting involved, I can help bridge gaps in knowledge, promote healthier choices, and support evidence-based initiatives that empower individuals and families. Being part of the solution not only improves community well-being but also brings a sense of purpose and connection.

Some of the strength of my community health factors are:

My community places a strong emphasis on family support and collective well-being, which creates a natural network for health promotion and care. There is a rich tradition of holistic and preventive health practices, including Ayurveda and yoga, that complement modern medicine. Education and awareness around health are growing rapidly, empowering people to make informed choices. Additionally, strong community bonds and cultural values encourage mutual care, making it easier to mobilize resources and support for public health initiatives. These strengths create a foundation for resilience and positive health outcomes.

Some of the challenges in my community regarding certain health factors are:

Despite many strengths, my community faces challenges such as limited access to affordable and timely healthcare in some areas, especially for chronic diseases like diabetes and heart conditions. There can be a lack of awareness or stigma around mental health, which prevents many from seeking help. Additionally, rapid urbanization and lifestyle changes have led to rising rates of obesity and related health issues. Addressing these challenges requires continued education, improved healthcare infrastructure, and culturally sensitive outreach programs to ensure everyone receives the care and support they need.

I believe I can help improve my community's health by...

I believe I can help improve my community’s health by leveraging my background in pharmacy and health data analysis to provide accurate insights and promote evidence-based health interventions. By analyzing public health data and contributing to educational programs, I can help identify key health challenges and support initiatives that encourage healthier lifestyles. Additionally, through developing engaging tools like gamified health platforms and chatbots, I aim to increase community awareness and participation in health management. Ultimately, I want to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and real-world impact to empower my community toward better health outcomes.

Advancing the DREAM

Advancing the DREAM - What it means to me

I strive to advance Dr. King’s dream by using my skills in pharmacy and health data to promote equity and access in healthcare. Through data analysis, I aim to uncover disparities in health outcomes and support initiatives that target underserved populations. I believe that every individual regardless of their background, income, or location deserves access to quality, culturally competent care. By contributing to projects like The Force for Health® Network, which focuses on community education and engagement, I work to ensure that health information and resources are inclusive, accessible, and empowering. My goal is to help build a future where care is not a privilege, but a basic right for all.

My Action Pledge to Advance the DREAM?

In 2025, my action pledge to advance the dream is to focus on using health data to identify and reduce disparities in chronic disease management within underserved communities. I will work on creating accessible, culturally relevant visual tools and educational content that empower individuals to take control of their health. By translating complex data into clear, actionable insights, I aim to support more equitable health outcomes and ensure that no one is left behind due to lack of awareness or access.
