Background

Bio and Background

I’m a 38 years book loving person that likes learning. Also, I like video games, puzzles and problem solving maybe that’s why I like helping other people. On the academics side I have a background on biomedical engineering and have two masters degrees.

Why I am a Force for Health Member

I’m eager to be part of Force for Health mainly for their unique and compelling approach to enhance others by enhancing your self as starting point. This mindset reminds me the poem “Our deepest fear” from Marianne Williamson, one of my favourite piece of literature of all time. As you can tell this is an high (and personal) incentive to be part of the organization.

How I use the Force for Health Network Tools

Right now I’m exploring all the different tool available, so I’m starting to get used to all of them. I like the virtual wellness club, is one of the first apps that I’m trying and seems promising.

My inspiration

As Salvadoran the people that inspire me the most are those that are thriving on international countries being a referent of their respective fields; specially if they are biomedical engineers, that it happen that I know a couple of person with this characteristics. The development and evolution of my peers is always inspire.

My Citizenship Health Factors

Some of the factors that have been challenging for me have been...

Language barriers. Although, nowadays this is becoming less challenging with practice and adjusting with the environment (also with all the translation related technology available) there’s always a difficult communication component.

It's important for me to be part of my community's health because...

A healthier community is the only way to have an integral growth as a part of society. Is to no one secret that when we lack of health (physically or mentally) our daily routine becomes troublesome and uncomfortable that’s why be a essential part of my community’s health is important.

Some of the strength of my community health factors are:

The adaptability to new changes

Some of the challenges in my community regarding certain health factors are:

The easy access to un-nutrition meals/fast food

I believe I can help improve my community's health by...

By adopting health practices and become a “early tester” on my community so they can relay and trust in healthier habits

Does your Community have what it takes to be a best in class model for collaborative, healthy communities? Why or why not?

Yes, I know that they have the intern will to start changing to their very best

Advancing the DREAM

Advancing the DREAM - What it means to me

Moving towards a truly “universal health”. This might not be achievable in a short period of time, but I’m willing to be part of the transformational force in the long run.

My Action Pledge to Advance the DREAM?

First, being constant. Second being trustworthy. Personally I believe that this two components are key to “get in motion” the Dream.
