Advancing the DREAM - What it means to me |
The statement “Injustice in healthcare is the biggest inequality for all” was made by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This statement strikes a deep chord with me since underrepresented communities—particularly Atrican Americans—continue to be disproportionately impacted by health inequities. These differences reinforce cycles of inequality and pose serious obstacles to receiving high-quality care. Both personally and as a member of a broader community working toward change, this has an impact on me. When I ask, “How can you help advance the DREAM in the spirit of Dr. King’s legacy toward equality and equity for all?” It entails actively working to guarantee that healthcare is available, fair, and inclusive for all people, irrespective of their history, race, or financial situation, in my opinion. Beyond civil rights, Dr. King’s vision of justice encompasses the vital field of health, which forms the basis of all other facets of existence.
