Defense Health Agency Director U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland thanks Honorable Ashish Vazirani for his tremendous work in support of the Military Health System. “Mr. Vazirani has been an incredible advocate and leader who has used his position for the good of the Military Health System … the fact that you chose to serve in this critical time in this country is much appreciated,” she said. Vazirani, performing the duties of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness since Sept. 8, 2023, visited the Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia, on Jan. 14, 2025, as he ended his tenure with the Department of Defense.

It has been an honor to enable the work that you do,” he said. “I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve alongside you, I thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this mission, and I thank you for all that you do for service members and their families.” Vazirani served in his role since Sept. 8, 2023, where he was the principal staff assistant and advisor to the Secretary of Defense for force readiness, education and training, and military and civilian personnel requirements and management.
