Healthy Horizons in Arizona

Vaccines are one of the greatest public health achievements of the last century. Thanks to their effectiveness over the past 75 years, diseases like tetanus, diphtheria, and rubella are now rare. Without vaccines, these illnesses could cause serious and long-lasting health complications for both children and adults.

By choosing to vaccinate, you help prevent outbreaks and protect not only yourself but also your loved ones, friends, and neighbors. A well-vaccinated community is a healthier one. Despite this, childhood vaccination rates have declined in recent years, putting more people at risk for preventable diseases.

To encourage informed decision-making and highlight the incredible healthcare providers across Arizona, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) partnered with the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP) and the Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI) to create the Healthy Horizons video series. This series features dedicated pediatricians from across the state sharing why they strongly advocate for vaccination and how it benefits families and communities.

We invite all Arizonans to watch these videos and hear directly from trusted healthcare professionals about why vaccines matter. Their insights will help you make the best decisions for your health, your family’s well-being, and the safety of your community.

“The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI) is proud to support the Healthy Horizons campaign. Vaccines are among the most critical public health innovations—comparable to clean drinking water.” – James Washington, CEO, TAPI

Parents often look to their child’s healthcare provider as the most trusted source of information about vaccines.

“Immunizations are a safe and effective way to protect children from disease. We are incredibly proud of the passion and dedication of these pediatricians, including AzAAP chapter leaders and members, and we know their stories will inspire and inform.” – Anne Stafford, MA, AzAAP Chief Executive Officer

Every year, vaccines save an estimated 42,000 lives in the U.S. They are a safe, effective, and simple way to keep your family and community healthy.

Join us on our journey to Healthy Horizons and learn how vaccines help protect the people you love!
