Opioids Basics

Objective: The learner will better understand opioid risks and addiction issues and how to use Naloxone to reverse the effects of an overdose if given early enough with the correct technique.

Time: 30 minutes

Learner profile: Anyone, especially those that are or know someone that uses these drugs.

It happens too often. Routine pain management for an injury r surgery, can lead to abuse adn addiction. Children finding a prescription and thinking its candy or a game, can overdose and die. Many recreational drugs are now cut with Fentanyl, with inaccurate amounts, and can lead to overdose or death, the very first time someone takes the pill.
