ADHS Volunteers During National Giving Month

National Giving Month, celebrated in December, encourages individuals to spread kindness and generosity, especially during the holiday season. It’s a time to support those in need through donations, volunteering, or simply lending a helping hand.

On December 3, ADHS volunteers helped pack emergency food boxes at St. Mary’s Food Bank. Together, volunteers made 1,170 boxes at the event! These efforts will help to feed Arizona families which can make a significant difference during the holiday season. This contribution to help others would not be possible without the generosity of dedicated volunteers.

During National Giving Month, people can give in many ways, such as donating resources to charities, providing food and clothing to local shelters, or giving their time to help those less fortunate.

Beyond the joy of giving, research shows that acts of kindness can have significant health benefits, including reducing stress, improving mood, and boosting overall well-being. Helping others can also foster a sense of purpose and connection, which are key to maintaining mental and emotional health.

Whether through small gestures or larger contributions, National Giving Month reminds us that the act of giving not only helps others but also enhances our own happiness and vitality.

If you or a group would like to give back to the community, the St. Mary’s volunteer calendar has opportunities year-round to help those most in need. This holiday season, the gift of giving provides benefits for everyone.
