Stress Awareness Month: Protecting Your Peace, Preserving Your Health

👋 Hi, I’m Dr. Rob Gillio, Chief Medical Officer for the Force for Health Network.

April is Stress Awareness Month, and I want to speak from experience — as a doctor, a patient, a parent, and a neighbor.

💬 I’ve Felt It. I’ve Seen It.
Stress is something we all feel, but sometimes try to ignore. I’ve seen its impact in my own home, family, neighborhood, and even across our country — especially during times of political uncertainty, financial strain, health scares, or job instability.

When everything feels unstable, one thing must stay steady: your own self-care.

You cannot support others if you’re emotionally drained. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

🧠 What Can You Do?
Start by learning about stress — what triggers you, and what soothes you.

Build a routine that helps you stay grounded, such as:

Eating nourishing meals
Moving your body regularly
Going to bed at the same time each night
Talking openly with a trusted friend, advisor, or loved one
Making plans instead of staying stuck in the unknown
🆘 You’re Not Alone
If you’re overwhelmed or in crisis, professional help is available. Therapists, counselors, support groups, and mental health hotlines exist for a reason. And if you or someone you love is ever in immediate danger, call your community’s emergency number without delay.

💡 Let’s take action together.

Stress is real — but so is recovery, resilience, and support.

Learn it. Live it. Share it.

I’m Dr. Rob Gillio — and this month, let’s protect our peace and help one another breathe a little easier.

Would you like this version formatted for email outreach, a downloadable wellness handout, or turned into a script for a community workshop?
