Matthew Case, assistant director (acting) for Health Care Administration, Defense Health Agency (DHA), visited the joint headquarters of Defense Health Network Pacific Rim (DHN-PR) and Naval Medical Forces Pacific (NMFP) in San Diego to meet with Rear Adm. Guido Valdes, who leads both organizations.

Researchers from DHN Pacific Rim Drive Breakthroughs in Military Medicine [Image 3 of 10]

Defense Health Network Pacific Rim Director Rear Adm. Guido Valdes talks with Capt. Matthew Tadlock, and an attendee at the 2024 Military Health System Research Symposium in Kissimmee, Fla. Valdes, who is also the Naval Medical Forces Pacific commander, was at the event to support researchers from military treatment facilities within his Network as well as those from Navy Medicine’s eight medical research laboratories which fall under his purview. Tadlock, a surgeon at Naval Medical Center San Diego and researcher for DoD’s Joint Trauma System, was presenting his research during a poster session.
