360° Human Explorer Tour: Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic Cancer
Hi, this is Dr. Rob.

Today, we’re discussing pancreatic cancer using the 360 Human Explorer. Let’s navigate to the digestive system, where we can locate the pancreas. The pancreas is situated behind the stomach, in front of the spine, and near other organs like the liver and gallbladder.

The pancreas serves two primary functions: producing enzymes for digestion and making insulin to regulate blood sugar. Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect early because the pancreas has few pain nerves. By the time symptoms appear, such as unexplained back pain, diabetes, or digestive issues, the cancer may have advanced.

Stages of pancreatic cancer range from stage one (localized) to stage four (spread to other organs, like the liver or bones). Early detection is crucial. If you experience vague symptoms or have a family history of pancreatic cancer, ask your doctor about screening.

Learn, live, and share this knowledge to promote early detection.
