- Eat a healthy diet: Foods consumed should be low in sodium and high in nutrients, such as fruites, vegetables, and whole grains
- Get regular exercise: Focus on becoming more active, through excercising at least 2 hours and a half a week
- Limit alcohol and tobacco use: Avoid tobacco and alcohol because they increase blood pressure

- Adhere to medicine prescribed by your doctor: Medicines don't cure high blood pressure, but it is important to take medicine as prescribed in order to control blood pressure
